Meet Our Founder
Dr. Obi’s commitment to mindfulness research resulted in participants losing an average of 5% of their body weight during a 12-week program. This success sparked her desire to guide patients toward better health—not only treating illness but preventing it.
Through MYAFA Inc., she strives to support patients holistically by working with a diverse team of professionals, including nutritionists, fitness experts, counselors, social workers, and spiritual directors. Together, they address the full spectrum of factors that impact health, ensuring that everyone has the support they need to achieve their wellness goals.

I first met Dr. Obi through my mother. It was a bitter experience because there were two doctors at that office and I was upset that my mother was discharged from the hospital but Dr. Obi called and persisted that I bring my mother in again since she was not the one to see her. And that goes to show that Dr. Obi cares even for people who she doesn’t know, she has many good qualities that every doctor should have. Since that day not only is she my mother’s doctor but also my daughter’s and I doctor. She calls to check up on all our physical and mental health. She takes being a doctor very seriously and is very patient and listens to our concerns to find a solution always. I wouldn’t trade her for any other doctor, she’s the best!

What is MYAFA Inc.?
MYAFA Inc. is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing free wellness and education programs to underserved individuals and families. Our mission is to improve community health by removing financial barriers to access.
Is MYAFA Inc. a tax-exempt organization?
Yes, MYAFA Inc. is a qualified 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization. Donations made to us are tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law.
How can I make a donation?
You can make a donation through our secure online donation form on the Donations page. We accept cash donations, as well as non-cash contributions.
Will I receive a receipt for my donation?
Yes! For all donations, you will receive a written acknowledgment within two weeks, which serves as your receipt for tax purposes.
What documentation do I need for my donation?
For all cash donations, regardless of the amount, you need a written acknowledgment from us to claim a tax deduction. For non-cash donations, regardless of the amount, you will receive a detailed acknowledgment, including a description of the donated items, the estimated equivalent cash value, and the date of the donation. For non-cash donations valued at $5,000 or more, you need a qualified appraisal from a professional appraiser who meets IRS standards, and you must attach this appraisal to your tax return if claiming a deduction.
Additionally, all donations to MYAFA Inc. are tax-deductible.
What types of donations do you accept?
We accept both cash and non-cash donations. Non-cash donations can include items like equipment, clothing, and services. Please refer to our Donations page for more details.
How do I determine the value of my non-cash donation?
You can assess the fair market value of your items by checking online marketplaces or consulting appraisers. We also provide guidelines on our Documentation Guidance page.
What are the contribution limits for tax deductions?
